Tripti Sahni is an award winning, internationally trained Lighting Designer. Graduating with a Masters in Lighting Design from PARSONS, New York, she has worked with renowned names such as Tom Dixon (London) and IKEA and was Senior Lighting Designer at AWA Lighting Designers (New York and then Mumbai).
A recipient of the EDIDA Award (Elle Decor Interior Design Award) for her Origami Lamp, she has nurtured her interest in bespoke product design. The genesis of this was her material explorations during her architectural education at J.J. College of Architecture where she graduated with Honours and went on to work with Sanjay Puri Architects on high-end residential and commercial projects.
Tripti has won numerous awards and grants. Most recently she was awarded the Michael Kalil Grant in New York for her work on light and human perception. Tripti balances creative thinking with technical expertise, helping spaces come alive by bringing out the richness of materials, exaggerating scale and enhancing geometry through modulations of light and shadow. Her varied international experience on working with light, including with the Port Authority in New York have sharpened her project management skills.
